In autumn 2020, the Finnish-Swedish Male Voice Choir Association launched the 30 Karat project. Its aim was to discover new songs for our choirs to complement the established male-voice choral repertoire. We hope the project will inspire our singers and, in the longer term, help ensure the continuity of our choirs by offering a repertoire that is both contemporary and timeless.

Our member choirs took part in the collaborative process, and their contributions helped the working group develop a repertoire spanning a wide variety of musical styles and levels of difficulty. The selection includes classics, newly composed works and fresh arrangements. The songs are suitable for many different occasions, and all can be performed a cappella.

As part of the 30 Karat project, the project choir Tretti Karar was established to try out the arrangements and record a selection of the songs. These recordings are now being released on Spotify, one song at a time.
